Salamanca, Spain / 28-30 June and 1st July 2016
The European Council for Social Research on Latin America [CEISAL] and the Instituto de Iberoamérica of the University of Salamanca invite you to submit symposium proposals and participate in the 8th International Conference themed “A Post-Hegemonic Era: Society, Culture and Politics in Latin America”, to be held on 28-30 June and 1st July 2016.
CEISAL is a network which brings together the main institutes and specialised centres in Latin American studies, as well as national associations of social research on Latin America in Europe. It currently consists of 51 members representing 19 European countries. The idea is to create plural and critical spaces for reflection from the different fields in Social Sciences in order to broaden in the knowledge of the social, cultural, economic and political realities in a post-hegemonic era.
Symposiums must discuss issues on Social Sciences, related to Latin America and linked to one of the Conference Themes. Symposium proposals have to be endorsed by at least two coordinators from different universities or Research Centres in different countries, and at least one of them must be affiliated to a European institution. Aiming to launch research networks and bonds between scholars from both continents, CEISAL expects that the symposiums will be promoted by people from different institutions. Symposiums will include a maximum of 16 original papers.
The symposium proposal has to include a title, names and personal information of the coordinators, the Conference Theme to which the symposium is associated, a 250-500 word abstract explaining the objectives, and a provisional list containing at least 5 to 8 papers and their respective authors.
CEISAL invites you to visit the 8th Conference website in order to fill in the corresponding forms. All symposium proposals must be submitted via the online management system before 1st March 2015.
